This journal entry might be different from all my previous ones, but bear with me. As you may know me, I thoroughly enjoy the concept of dreams and dream sequences in general, even nightmares. I even enjoy video games that involve dreams in some way, even the characters we grew up with can drift off to sleep and we get to explore their subconscious.

Dreams, in context, are images in your head while you're fast asleep. They're not real and won't harm you. Nightmares especially won't physically harm you (unless if you're in the A Nightmare on Elm Street universe), they just aim to scare you awake. We can also look into a character's personality and what they fear the most in dreams alone. Some dreams don't entirely reflect their personalities, but I digress. Even what we see and events that occur in the real world can affect your dreams in some capacity.

Back then, I used to be obsessed with an obscure Sega Genesis game that stars the Looney Tunes character, Bugs Bunny. We get to see his memories through a mysterious television-esque machine that involves some of his iconic adventures in the past. Given that he's known for his trickster techniques and only gets back at his foes when they harm him first, it's only fair that only in his dreams they get to bite back at him and do the same thing as he does in the waking world.

Another game that also involves dreams in some way is a SpongeBob title. Creature from the Krusty Krab I believe it's called. Or rather it's PC counterpart, Nighty Nightmare. You get to explore the dreams and nightmares of three characters, SpongeBob, Patrick and Plankton. The dreams represent their aspirations, like SpongeBob becoming a racing expert and Plankton growing into a giant and destroying Bikini Bottom since he's rather small, and their nightmares represent their fears somewhat, like Plankton being stuck in a giant whale and Patrick exploring his dirty, unkempt home (which is ironic given his lack of smell).

The last game I'll be talking about does not involve a cartoon character but rather, a video game character. You know about Super Mario Bros. 2 and how the whole thing was all a dream of Mario's, but I'm not counting that as that character's specific dream (despite Shy Guys and Birdos making their first appearance there). What I am gonna talk about is Sonic Shuffle for the Dreamcast. Sure it's a pretty bad party game, but if it wasn't for the story, I wouldn't have enjoyed it. Anyway, the plot involves Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy being transported to a dream world known as Maginaryworld, courtesy of a fairy named Lumina Flowlight.

Each of the first four boards in the game (as well as the intro cutscene) reflect each of the four main characters' dream worlds. According to Sonic Wiki Zone, Emerald Coast is Knuckles' dream, being a dream world of peacefulness. Fire Bird is Tails' dream which represents flying and freedom. Jungle Zone is Amy's dream, representing her love of nature. And lastly, Sonic's dream Riot Train represents the thrill of adventure. These all make sense. As in the real world, Knuckles prefers being alone with the Master Emerald and enjoys being at peace, while Amy helped save a poor bird and help it find its family, and has a love for flowers. And we know Sonic and Tails' personalities all too well.

In conclusion, I enjoy the concept of dreams as a whole. Not only do they expand on a character's personality, but they also reflect what they are in the real world. I might do a part 2 on my favorite video games involving dreams such as NiGHTs into Dreams, Piglet's Big Game, and many others. Let me know if I missed anything or what you want me to correct upon, and y'all have a good day, or rather good night. ^^

Happy New Year! No better time to start 2024 than to open up point commissions and art trades again. Now up to 5 slots this time! Here's the original description:

Requests may be closed forever, but I'm gonna start taking point commissions and art trades from here on out! Before you ask me, read the rules below first:

- I can't guarantee when I'll get around to the point commissions/art trades. If I had free time and I'm not working on my personal projects, then I will do the one whoever asked me first.

- I'll only do those that interests me/catches my eye. So if your's didn't get picked, then that's not your problem. Try asking someone else. ^^

- If the slots are filled, wait until they are emptied out and then you can take the spot of whichever section is open at the moment.

- If you've already made an art trade/point commission before, wait until the next journal so you can re-ask for another. Let everyone else have their moments to ask me, okay?

- I do NOT allow fetish/NSFW-themed artwork. I intend to focus more on family-friendly content (with minor gore pics if I'm feeling like it). Here is a list of fetish artwork I do not accept.

- Only ask me one picture at a time. I do not take more than once. Let other users have their own slots for their sake.

- Original characters are acceptable too, but they don't have to be too complicated for me to draw. I only accept simple OCs.

- I don't have a PayPal account, so I only invest in DA points. Because of the fact that I live in Syria and I'm banned from having said account, so yeah...

- Art Trades are like requests, only I have to ask you to draw/make something for me in return. That's why they're called exactly that.

- Despite Point Commissions/Art Trades being open forever, they are not open in October and December, because of both the Inktober Challenge and my 12 Days of Christmas tradition, respectively.

- I prefer variety when it comes to Point Commissions/Art Trades. If you've already asked me that particular kind of subject, do NOT ask for me a drawing with the same idea but different characters to avoid repetitiveness.

- Maximum character count should be at least 10. Any characters above that number will either have to be reduced to that amount of characters or do them in seperate drawings.

- Only ONE drawing subject, and not multiple. I cannot do multiple activity-related drawings between characters unless it's a scenario-themed drawing.

- No comics or multiple panel pics please. I prefer doing single panel drawings since I want to focus on my own stuff.

That being said, let's get on with the Art Trade and Point Commission lists.

Hey everyone. You probably saw the title of this journal and you might be thinking, why exactly did you leave the fandom? Without any name-calling or stuff that could get me in hot water online, here's a few reasons why.

1. Toxic behavior: I cannot stand toxic people in general really. The fandom itself is friendly and all, but only with the right people. You're bond to find some... not-so-friendly faces around, especially one who keeps claiming his version of Crash is the "genuine article" and not the ones developed by Activision. And some fans take their ships way too seriously, which brings me to my next point...

2. Ship wars: Not as bad as the Sonamy VS Sonally wars back in the day, but it's pretty close. I myself prefer Pinstripe X Tawna and Crash X Pasadena over Crash X Tawna, but there are people who prefer the latter pairing more. Instead of respecting others' opinions like most grown-ups do, they fight over them, and it never ends. Ship wars like these made me stray away further and further from the fandom...

3. Uninterest in the latest title: Unlike the rest of the fans, I lost all hype for Crash Team Rumble after it was announced at TGA 2022. It's just a MOBA-type game with reused assets from Crash 4; a game that I find fun at first aside from the tedious box placements, but now began to dislike it for personal reasons. Rumble should have been free-to-play like Fortnite or Disney Speedstorm, especially because you have to pay for the game as well as PS Plus in order to actually play it. Even with new characters and maps being added in future updates, it isn't enough to save me from this trainwreck of a game. But at least I don't hate on it as much as that other guy I mentioned.

And there you have it. I'm glad I left the fandom for my own sake, and went on to pursue other interests such as Disney (specifically Mickey Mouse & Friends) and other video game-related fandoms. Will I ever come back to the fandom? Not a chance. Will I still make Crash Bandicoot fanart? Yes, but not as much as I used to back then. Until then, see ya later. 👋

So, you may or may not be thinking... will I ever do a 12 Days of Christmas event for this year, like I did the previous years? Well, I thought about it... and decided I cannot do one I'm afraid. Or maybe even the years after this. It's hard to come up with (x) number of objects each day, not to mention my health is slightly off that I had to take meds to calm myself down.

So yeah, there won't be a 12 Days of Christmas this year. Sorry to those who were probably looking forward to 'em. :(

It's that time of the year again, ladies and gents... Time for me to make my own wishlist on what drawings I'd love to see from you guys. Feel free to take on any of these prompts during the month of December.

- Mickey and Minnie Mouse smooching in the lips under a mistletoe

- Cream the Rabbit and her mother Vanilla in winter clothes

- Granite and Jasper from Jewelpet having a snowball fight

- Lola Bunny in a skimpy Christmas dress

- My OC Joyce Cottontail kissing my other OC Bailey Bluehound in the cheek (ref here)

- Yoshi and Baby Mario together

- Tikal and Chaos 0 holding hands in the afterlife

And that's pretty much it. Feel free to pick one or more of these. Anybody can choose what they want to draw, and there's no limit. Until then, Happy Holidays! :santa:
